Ключові лінгвокультурні концепти в американському варіанті сучасної англійської мови

Abstract

У статті розглянуто національно марковані концепти, притаманні американському варіанту сучасної англійської мови. Основну увагу зосереджено на вивченні вербально реалізованих ключових концептів, які складають ядро національно маркованої концептосфери американців і сприяють глибшому розумінню різно¬манітних об’єктів, процесів і явищ, що стали підґрунтям для концептуалізації ними навколишнього світу. Клю-човими лінгвокультурними концептами в концептуальній картині світу носія американського варіанта англій¬ської мови було виділено такі: THE AMERICAN CREED, AMERICANISM, EXCEPTIONALISM. Це концепти, які мають важливе значення у визначенні історичної індивідуальності, національної ідентичності американ¬ського народу й не мають аналогів у мовній свідомості носіїв інших мов (чи їх варіантів) і культур. Вони охоплюють репрезентації абстрактних понять, не пов’язаних із безпосереднім проявом предметних реалій у позамовній дійсності та найяскравіше відображають глибокі й неповторні концептуальні відмінності картин світу носіїв американського варіанта сучасної англійської мови. The article deals with the nationally marked concepts of the American variety of Modern English. Main attention is paid to the study of the verbalized key concepts that form the core of American nationally marked conceptual sphere and help to understand peculiarities of conceptualization of different objects, processes and phenomena in American English. The complex analysis is based on taking into account both intra- and extralinguistic factors as it is performed mainly within the framework of linguoculturological approach to the study of variant specified conceptualization. The concepts THE AMERICAN CREED, AMERICANISM, EXCEPTIONALISM have been defined as the key linguocultural concepts in the conceptual world model of the speakers of American variety of Modern English. The latter are of paramount importance for the national identity awareness of speakers of American English and have not got any analogues in the language conscience of speakers of other languages (or their varieties) and cultures. They cover abstract notions not related to object realia in the extralinguistic world and most vividly reflect deep and unique conceptual peculiarities of the world model of the speakers of American variety of Modern English.
