Концептуальна метафора в політичному дискурсі: гендерний аспект

Abstract

Досліджено гендерні особливості вживання концептуальної метафори в англомовному політичному дискурсі. Це зумовлено спрямуванням сучасних лінгвістичних праць на поглиблене вивчення особливостей політичного спілкування, реалізації концептуальної метафори в політичних текстах, її структурних і типологічних характеристик, виявлення гендерних особливостей використання концептуальної метафори як засобу мовленнєвого впливу на масову свідомість. Актуальність роботи полягає в тому, що гендерні маркери в полі¬тичних текстах загалом досліджені мало, а концептуальні метафори особливо. Розглянуто певні особливості політичного дискурсу, зокрема, специфіку функціонування когнітивних метафор у сфері політичного спілку¬вання, гендерні особливості побудови політичного дискурсу, що зумовлюють вибір мовних засобів. Проана¬лізовано когнітивні метафори в публічних промовах президента США Барака Обами та екс-держсекретаря США Гіларі Клінтон. Описано структурні й семантичні особливості концептуальної метафори в чоловічому та жіночому мовленні. Виявлено й класифіковано основні концепти, які метафорично представлено в дискурсі політиків-чоловіків і політиків-жінок. Підтверджено, що мовлення політиків-жінок більш метафоричне, ніж політиків-чоловіків. Доведено, що використання метафор – засіб впливу на масового адресата в політичному дискурсі. The article deals with the study of gender peculiarities of conceptual metaphor usage in English discourse. It is stipulated by the interest of modern linguistic investigations in the study of political discourse, the realization of political metaphor in political texts, its structural and typological peculiarities as well as gender features. It studies the specificity of conceptual metaphor usage to influence people’s mind. The research is of scientific significance due to the fact that gender specifies are not studied enough. Some features of the political discourse are considered, in particular, the specificity of cognitive metaphors functioning in the sphere of political communication, gender peculiarities of creating the political discourse, which determine the choice of language means. The analysis of cognitive metaphors in public speeches of US President Barack Obama and former US Secretary Hillary Clinton is carried out. The structural and typological peculiarities of conceptual metaphors in male and female speeches are described. The main concepts which are metaphorically represented in a discourse of the male politicians and female politicians are revealed and classified. It is confirmed that the speeches of female politicians are more metaphorical than speeches of the male politicians. It is proved that the use of metaphors is a means to influence the mass addressee in political discourse.
