Василь Стефаник у літературно-критичній рецепції Луки Луціва

Abstract

У статті висвітлено методологічні принципи та жанрові риси літературознавчої стефаникіани діаспорного дослідника, журналіста, співредактора газети «Свобода» (Нью-Йорк) Луки Луціва. Окреслено етичні засади полеміки науковця з радянськими ідеологічними інтерпретаціями творчості Василя Стефаника. The article elucidates the methodological principles and features of the literary genre of Stefanyk studies of Ukrainian diaspora researcher, journalist and co-editor of the newspaper «Svoboda» (New York) Luka Luciv. This article represents a panoramic picture of the literary process in Ukraine, in the context of which the interpretation of Vasyl Stefanyk’s work was holistically considered by Luka Lutsiv, who scrupulously studied the tremendous achievements of the author. Ethical principles of scholar’s polemic with Soviet researchers of Ukrainian novelis’s work were defined, because in the terms of confrontation of strict totalitarian and democratic systems it could not be stand aside, when dealing with the figure of Vasyl Stefanyk. That is why Luka Lutsiv entered into an ideological debate with its communist interpreters. Journalistic and scientific researches in the sphere of Stefanyk studies, penetrated through with harsh polemics with Soviet critics, give an opportunity of deeper understanding of heritage and creative credo of the great figure, who glorified Ukrainian land.
